SUMMARY:
Empangeni - A global company is looking for a Workshop Technician to carry out maintenance on trucks, trailers, and the depot. The role requires availability for 24-hour standby when needed and the ability to work overtime as required.
POSITION INFO:
Duties and Responsibilities:
- To perform maintenance on trucks, trailers, and depot. As well as depot and fleet routine inspections.
- Repairs on truck and trailers
- 24-hour breakdowns (standby)
- Maintaining fleet and depot
- Repairs on truck and trailers
- Ordering parts and maintaining stock, collect
- Roadworthy and safe loading inspections
- Work weekends when needed.
- Tyre changes
- Health and safety inspections
- Fleet inspections
- General run around
- To be a team leader
Requirements: - Matric
- Qualification for Diesel Mechanic
- Valid driver’s licence, Code 14 with PDP will be an advantage
- Must have minimum 5 years’ experience in the trade
- Must have knowledge on air brake system
- Must be available to work overtime and do breakdowns, when required
- Must be computer literate
- Excellent communication skills
- Must be able to think on your feet
