Workshop Technician

SUMMARY:
Empangeni - A global company is looking for a Workshop Technician to carry out maintenance on trucks, trailers, and the depot. The role requires availability for 24-hour standby when needed and the ability to work overtime as required.

POSITION INFO:
Duties and Responsibilities:

• To perform maintenance on trucks, trailers, and depot. As well as depot and fleet routine inspections.
• Repairs on truck and trailers
• 24-hour breakdowns (standby)
• Maintaining fleet and depot
• Repairs on truck and trailers
• Ordering parts and maintaining stock, collect
• Roadworthy and safe loading inspections
• Work weekends when needed.
• Tyre changes
• Health and safety inspections
• Fleet inspections
• General run around
• To be a team leader

• Matric
• Qualification for Diesel Mechanic
• Valid driver’s licence, Code 14 with PDP will be an advantage
• Must have minimum 5 years’ experience in the trade
• Must have knowledge on air brake system
• Must be available to work overtime and do breakdowns, when required
• Must be computer literate
• Excellent communication skills
