WINTEL MIGRATION SPECIALIST - CONTRACT POSITION- DECEMBER 2025
 Are you a Migration Specialist who is an IT professional, who specializes in helping organizations move their data, applications, and systems from one environment to another.
Then our client in the mining industry wants you to join their dynamic team.

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
The ideal candidate should possess a solid working knowledge of Windows operating systems and domain structures, along with a high level of understanding of Active Directory (AD) and its components.
Experience with the Quest migration tool for transferring servers and user objects between domains is preferred.
Should appreciate and understand how various systems operate and integrate within an IT environment.
Strong analytical skills are necessary to analyse and troubleshoot technical issues effectively.
Additionally, the candidate must have strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with various role players and stakeholders, and ensure accuracy and thoroughness in all migration-related tasks is preferred.

• Migration Planning and Coordination
• Data Preparation
• Migration Execution
• Post-Migration Verification
• Troubleshooting

• Ensure efficiency of Windows & Virtualization platforms
• Policies, procedures, and controls to secure systems
• Utilise PowerShell scripting for automation tasks.
• Expertise in Windows Server OS 2016/2019/2022, including installation, configuration, and hardening.
• Knowledge of failover clustering for Windows Server 2016/2019/2022.
• Hands-on experience with FTP, antivirus, and patching.
• Proficient in VMware ESXi 6.x, 7.x, and 8.0, including installation, implementation, and configuration (vMotion, HA, DRS, datastores).
• Manage production and non-production environments, including Hyper-V servers and clusters.
• Present technical information to stakeholders.
• Analyze and report on infrastructure performance.
• Validate changes on server virtualization/migration platforms.
• Implement and manage System Center Virtual Machine Manager.
• Manage physical servers, chassis, and VxRail.
• Coordinate with third-party
• Perform rollback and troubleshooting activities.
