Welder required for a reputable company based in East London , Eastern Cape

Qualifications & Experience

• Preferably 3-5 year’s experience in welding work
• Ability and willingness to carry out steel fabrication tasks
• Knowledge of tools and General Engineering Equipment
• Able to perform relevant engineering trade-specific, related calculations
• Steel pipe work & flanges and structural steel
• Thorough understanding of machines and tools used in welding.
• Ability to read and follow drawings
• Completed recognised Apprenticeship in the Welding Trade and a forklift license, not a requirement, but can count in your favor
  

Job Description

• Welding work: M.I.G, T.I.G, ARC & Co2
• Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions
• Welds and assembles metal pieces and products by using handheld welding equipment
• Sets up parts for welding; uses hand tools, clamps, jigs and fixtures
• Works from specifications and drawings
• Prepares and completes work on materials by welding, cutting, grinding and cleaning metal
• Operate safety equipment, and use safe work habits
• Determine required equipment and welding methods, applying knowledge of metallurgy, geometry, and welding techniques
• To liaise with production and workshop personnel in order to coordinate maintenance and repair jobs
• Comply with relevant safety regulations as prescribed in the OHS act
• The ideal candidate will also have a steady hand and great attention to detail
