Warehouse Supervisor

SUMMARY:
Our client is seeking an experienced Warehouse Supervisor to join their company in Epping, Cape Town.

Job Requirements:

• Matric is essential
• A Diploma in Logistics Management or equivalent will be advantageous
• Previous experience working as a Warehouse Supervisor/Team Leader is essential
• A forklift license is essential
• Experience in an FMCG environment is essential
• Proven experience in Warehouse planning, Stock Control, Dispatching and Receiving
• Sound knowledge of Health and Safety practices and principles
• SAGE Evolution knowledge will be advantageous
• Excellent problem solving, decision making and interpersonal skills
• Excellent leadership skills
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
• Ability to communicate in Afrikaans will be advantageous
• Ability to cope well under pressure
• Flexibility to adapt quickly to changing business conditions and changing priorities

• Receive all incoming stock and materials into the warehouse.
• Verify stock against the delivery notes.
• Once stock is picked and taken to the packing area, ensure it is packed according to the invoice and placed on the allocated tables for loading onto vehicles the following day.
• Process stock as per customer requirements and ensure everything is in order for delivery.
• Follow up on any queries regarding picking slips and order collection.
• Review the timeliness of scheduled deliveries.
• Monitor inventory levels and ensure timely replenishment.
• Report any irregularities or issues to the Operations Manager.
• Handle all materials in compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Participate in stock cycle counts and stocktaking as required, in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Ensure staff comply with health, safety, and SOPs.
• Maintain housekeeping standards and drive continuous improvement within the warehouse area.
• Consistently work to enhance processes.
• Deliver efficiencies to support the annual operational budget reduction.
• In collaboration with the Operations Manager, implement warehouse management systems and practices in line with best practices and continuous improvement.
• Monitor and review operational methods to support both qualitative and quantitative improvements, ensuring continuous customer service.
• Occasionally operate the forklift to ensure full operational capacity and achieve daily targets.
• Oversee any planned maintenance of vehicles, machinery, and equipment.
• Ensure the security of the warehouse environment and maintain access control, upholding 5S housekeeping standards at all times.
• Monitor and maintain stock accuracy, ensuring physical stock matches the warehouse management system, and record all stock movements to ensure precision.
• Manage supplier return packaging.
• Record and communicate any stock shortages to the relevant department.
• Monitor stock levels to identify minimum and excess stock levels, preventing shortages.
• Ensure all facility equipment is properly maintained.
• Drive the implementation of Standard Work and quality processes to ensure "Right First Time" delivery, meeting customer expectations.
• Supervise and control order picking, goods in, and goods out operations to ensure accuracy with minimal handling and stock damage.
• Communicate and collaborate effectively with other team members.
• Supervise, train, guide, and assess new warehouse employees.
• Perform any ad-hoc duties as management requests from time to time.
