SUMMARY:
Role: Voice Infrastructure Engineer
Location: Illovo, Johannesburg

Our client is a leading ISP and they are looking for an Infrastructure Engineer to join their Network Operations team. They are a dynamic and collaborative company who look after their staff well and offer opportunity to grow and develop.
You will be responsible for all core infrastructure and technical delivery of Voice and Billing services. This includes voice and billing infrastructure in terms of development, deployment, uptime, maintenance, optimisation and evolution. You will be required to interact successfully with other areas of the business. You will be responsible for troubleshooting complex Voice solutions, collaborating extensively with direct peers as well as handling escalations from installations and support teams. In addition, you will do Network capacity planning such as bandwidth, licenses, ports, server and sbc capacity, amongst others and liaise with equipment and software vendors. You will keep up to date with new developments, bugs, software upgrades and develop technical documentation, maintain network and systems infrastructure and conduct fault finding and analysis among other duties.

POSITION INFO:
Experience/skills required:

8+ Years in a VoIP Engineering role in a service provider environment
Experience working with the Broadworks suite of servers is preferred (or similar)
Experience working with Oracle SBC’s is preferred
8+ Years working experience with Linux / Unix based operating systems
Perl or Python scripting skills would be beneficial (or similar)
Experience with SQL databases
Experience working with routers and switches in a service provider environment
A working knowledge of routing protocols and technologies, such as: MPLS and BGP
Experience working with Juniper routers and switches is preferred (or other vendors)
Experience working with FortiGate firewalls is preferred
Experience with Yealink handsets would be beneficial
