Job Description:
We’re on the hunt for a passionate Vice President of Engineering to lead my clients team in South Africa. You’ll craft strategies, guide a talented engineering crew, and build cutting-edge solutions for the global fresh produce supply chain. Reporting straight to the CTO, you’ll be based full-time in Johannesburg or Stellenbosch, driving tech that’s changing the game in the fresh produce world. This is your shot to make a mark at a fast-growing company, recognized as a top-10 startup. Bring your vibe and creativity to ensure scalability, performance, and security while teaming up with product and design crews to exceed client expectations
Skills & Experience:
10+ years in software engineering, with a knack for backend development and data mastery
Proven leadership in managing and mentoring engineering teams—jy weet hoe om mense te inspireer!
Sharp communication and teamwork skills across diverse groups.
Bonus points for experience with machine learning, data pipelines, or ETL processes
A passion for innovation and some know-how of agriculture or supply chains is a win
Qualification:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
Senior-level experience in software development and team leadership is a must
Ready to commit to full-time, on-site work in Johannesburg or Stellenbosch—hulle werk saam, daar!
