Job Description

You will be responsible for the following:

• Coordinating and overseeing health and safety functions.
• Identifying hazards and assessing risks, implementing safety controls.
• Ensuring compliance with all workplace safety legislation.
• Conducting safety patrols, risk assessments, and ensuring SOPs are followed.
• Training staff and contractors on safety procedures and handling emergency situations.
• Organizing and leading safety meetings, including toolbox talks and monthly health & safety committee meetings.
• Managing ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards, environmental and safety audits.
• Leading accident investigations, implementing corrective actions, and reporting IODs.
• Ensuring safe working conditions for all employees, contractors, and visitors.

Qualifications

• Degree in Safety Management or Nebosh Diploma.
• Nebosh Certificate and HIRA (Hazard Identification Risk Assessment) training.

Skills

• Minimum Experience: 3–5 years in environmental and safety management, preferably in an automotive manufacturing or similar manufacturing environment.
• Safety and Environmental Legislation Knowledge: Strong understanding of OHS Act 85 of 1993, National Environmental Management Act, and local by-laws.
• ISO Standards Knowledge: ISO 14001 (2015) and ISO 45001 (2018) standards.
• Incident Investigation: Knowledge and experience in incident investigation and root cause analysis
