Type Setter

SUMMARY:
Our client is looking for a Type Setter to join their dynamic team,

POSITION INFO:
Requirements:

• Typography diploma
• 3 to 5 years, experience gained in a similar position (Typesetting Annual Financial Statements and Financial Reports)
• Design and finished art experience advantageous
• Previous experience gained in an advertising, a large corporate environment or textbook publications house
• Working knowledge of printing and production processes
• Microsoft Office suite
• Advanced levels of Mac: Adobe CC suite, Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop

− Not negotiable:

• Able to work after hours.
• Own reliable transport

Key responsibilities:

Provide an accurately typeset document of exceptional quality
− Workflow process:

• Follow correct systems, procedures according to the workflow process on all projects
• Highlight areas that should/could be changed or improved upon
• o Ensure that files are set up correctly and style sheets applied
• Perform correct interpretation of the design into the typeset document in conjunction with the designer
• Ensure accurate inclusion of content into the typeset document, and correct implementation of authors corrections
• Ensure accurate plotting of graphs
• Find solutions to potential work-related problems and communicate these proactively to the Traffic Manager
• Check own house corrections on work, and are always kept below a maximum of 10% of actual hours spent
• Ensure files are saved on the server
• Some experience in financial reporting essential
