Treasury Manager (Dubai)

The Group has a diverse portfolio of expertise across various industries, encompassing agricultural commodity trade such as cocoa, coffee, cotton, soya, grains, pulses, etc, logistics, merchandising, food processing, (Renewable) Energy, Minerals and Metals, Technology, and supply chain optimization.
The Treasury Manager will be responsible to oversee diverse financial operations portfolios to ensure efficient cash flow management, liquidity, and financial risk mitigation.

POSITION INFO:
The role involves managing the end-to-end treasury functions, including cash management, investments, and debt financing. The Treasury Manager must possess the necessary skill to develop and implement strategies to optimize the use of financial resources, monitors market conditions, and ensures compliance with relevant regulations and policies. This position is crucial in supporting the financial stability and enabling informed decision-making.

Treasury Strategy and Leadership

• Develop and execute the overall treasury strategy in alignment with business objectives of the group.
• Collaborate with senior management to shape the organization’s financial policies and capital structure

• Oversee cash forecasting and liquidity management to ensure sufficient funds are available for ongoing operations and future growth.
• Optimize working capital and manage cash flow across all business units.
• Identify and execute strategies to maximize returns on excess liquidity while managing risks.
• Manage foreign currency exposure, ensure consistent and accurate cash projections are in place, with a focus on operations within the African continent.

• Manage relationships with banks and financial institutions to secure funding for the business.
• Lead debt issuance, refinancing, and capital raising efforts as needed to support business growth and strategic initiatives.
• Develop and maintain an efficient capital structure, optimizing the mix of debt, equity, and other financing instruments.

• Develop, implement, and manage hedging strategies to effectively mitigate Forex and interest rate exposures using approved instruments under the risk management policy.
• Preparation of Treasury exposures including Mark-to-Market for interest rate or FX derivatives, settlements, and P&L impact
• Forecasting of medium and long-term funding and hedging requirements for essential commodities
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements related to treasury functions.

• Develop and manage the company’s investment policies and strategies, ensuring alignment with business goals.
• Monitor the performance of the company’s investment portfolios and adjust strategies as needed.

• Build and maintain critical relationships with key external stakeholders including banks, lenders, rating agencies, and other financial partners.
• Liaising with senior management across the organization and supporting the month-end closing process where necessary.
• Present financial strategies, cash positions, and risk assessments to the Board of Directors and senior leadership.

• Manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing treasury team.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring the team stays up to date with industry trends, tools, and regulations.

• Keep abreast of technology landscape and implement appropriate treasury systems to make treasury activity more efficient and reducing manual intervention as far as possible

• Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) / CA (SA) / ACCA / CMA / CPA
• B.Com Accounting and Finance
• 9 – 10 Years’ experience in a senior / treasury manager role
• Commodity or experience as a trader essential
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in African territories
