Our client is looking for a driven and experienced Transport Broker to oversee daily transport operations, ensuring cargo safety, operational efficiency, and exceptional client service. The ideal candidate will have proven experience working with side tippers and tautliners, alongside strong logistics expertise and the ability to excel in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

• Operational Management:
• Source and execute targeted loads per day, ensuring operational and customer goals are met.
• Oversee vehicle bookings, fuel orders, route planning, and fleet allocations.
• Monitor the progress of loads, addressing operational issues promptly to ensure timely delivery.
• Ensure cargo safety and implement risk mitigation measures during transit.
• Client Relationship Management:
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and transport providers.
• Serve as the primary liaison, providing accurate updates on cargo status and performance.
• Address customer queries and ensure high levels of satisfaction and trust.
• KYC and Financial Risk Management:
• Conduct thorough Know Your Customer (KYC) checks for all approved customers.
• Collaborate with the finance team to assess creditworthiness and manage payment terms.
• Business Development:
• Identify and pursue opportunities to expand service offerings with current clients and in new markets.
• Negotiate favorable terms and contracts with clients and service providers.
• Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
• Track and analyze operational metrics, ensuring compliance with safety and efficiency standards.
• Prepare detailed reports for internal and external stakeholders, highlighting variances and corrective actions.
• Team Collaboration:
• Work closely with controllers and operational staff to ensure seamless execution of transport plans.
• Mentor junior team members to support operational goals.

• Strong expertise in logistics operations, including sourcing, executing, and monitoring loads.
• Proven experience working with side tippers and tautliners.
• Proficiency in risk assessment and cargo safety management.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client and stakeholder management.
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities to address challenges efficiently.
• Negotiation skills to secure favorable rates and contracts.
• Adaptability and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• 3-5 years in logistics, transport brokering, or a similar role.
• Direct experience working with side tippers and tautliners is essential.
• Experience in risk mitigation and cargo safety management.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Familiarity with logistics software and telematics systems is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license and own reliable transport.

Qualifications:

• Grade 12/Matric Certificate; additional qualifications in logistics or supply chain management are advantageous.
