POSITION INFO:

We are seeking a Test Analyst with experience in Java-based applications, ideally within the banking domain for a contract role of 12 months in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the quality and reliability of the bank's modernised software systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop, implement, and maintain test plans, test cases, and test scripts for Java-based applications.
Execute functional, regression, and performance testing.
Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and project managers to understand requirements and provide testing estimates.
Identify, document, and track software defects.
Participate in the development and execution of automated test scripts.
Ensure that software applications meet the established quality standards and customer requirements.
Contribute to continuous improvement efforts within the testing team.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Test Analyst, with a focus on Java-based applications.
Experience in the banking domain is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of software development and testing methodologies.
Proficiency with testing tools and frameworks.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with automated testing tools.
Knowledge of SQL and database testing.
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
ISTQB certification or equivalent is a plus.
