Our client is seeking a skilled and registered Engineer/Technologist to join their Structural Engineering team in Cape Town. POSITION INFO:
Lead and oversee structural engineering projects, ensuring high quality, compliance with regulations, and strict adherence to budgets and timelines
Provide design leadership by leveraging expertise in Revit, AutoCAD, and Prokon to create innovative engineering solutions
Mentor and support junior engineers, fostering their professional development and skill growth
Manage multiple projects independently, with guidance from the Director, ensuring all project goals are achieved
Collaborate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and contractors to ensure smooth project execution and high client satisfaction
Bi-weekly travel to project sites and client meetings will be required
Skills & Experience:
Expert proficiency in Prokon and relevant finite element analysis software
Proven ability to lead and manage design activities for engineering projects from initiation to completion
Demonstrated experience in independently managing multiple projects and working with senior management to achieve successful outcomes
Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and deadlines
Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders
Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment
Willingness to travel for work-related duties, including site visits and client meetings
Capable of working independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high-quality standards
Exceptional organizational and time management skills, able to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines efficiently
Minimum requirements
B.Tech / B.Eng / BSc in Civil Engineering
Minimum 7 years of experience in structural engineering, with a focus on designing concrete framed structures and structural steel buildings
Professionally registered with ECSA as a Professional Engineer / Technologist
Only South African Residents or individuals with a relevant South African work permit will be considered.
