Technical Specialist - Modern Workplace

SUMMARY:
As part of continuous improvement, the maturity level of existing products requires constant enhancement. The Technical Specialist – Modern Workplace will ensure that the Gijima service offering remains relevant and at the forefront of technology. This position focuses on the implementation and management of the Microsoft Windows Virtual Desktop environment and provides 3rd level support services for Microsoft Endpoint Manager (MEM). This role will work across Endpoint Manager (Intune), SCCM, and Azure Virtual Desktop.

POSITION INFO:
Formal Education:

• Matric (NQF 3) compulsory
• Tertiary IT Qualification (NQF5 or higher; i.e., Diploma, Degree)

• Azure Virtual Desktop:
  
  • Administration & Maintenance of Azure Resource Groups
  • Understanding of Azure Virtualization and Logic app automation
  • Proven PowerShell scripting
  • Full concept of Application Virtualization
  • Windows 10 OS Support
• MEMCM / Intune:
  
  • Microsoft Configuration Manager Infrastructure Support
  • Experience in Modern Desktop Management toolsets
  • Active Directory Group Policy creation and troubleshooting
  • Scripting experience (PowerShell, VB/.Net, Java)
  • Networking knowledge (TCP/IP configuration & troubleshooting)
  • Advanced understanding of Azure AD, conditional access, MDM/MAM strategies, solutions, and policies
  • Experience in Win32 Application migration from SCCM to Intune

• MCSA - Cloud Platform
• MCSE - Cloud Platform and Infrastructure
• Azure – Administrator
• Azure – Virtual Desktop
• ITIL Version 3 or higher (recommended)

• Support multiple platforms (SCCM, Intune, Azure Virtual Desktop)
• Consult with customers to determine application requirements
• Implement and enhance Modern Desktop management toolsets
• Stay updated on Microsoft service improvements
• Facilitate technical testing and research for system upgrades and improvements
• Develop automation scripts, utilities, and reports
• Identify and develop integration layers with other workspace management tools
• Perform daily health checks, configuration changes, and 3rd level stand-by support
• Lead Azure Virtual Desktop incidents to resolution, including advanced issues and Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
• Adapt responsibilities based on urgent needs

• Knowledge of Microsoft Configuration Manager (current branch) and IT operations
• Proficient in Incident, Problem, and Change Management
• Strong communication skills (oral and written)
