SUMMARY:
The Technical Procurement Officer will deploy buying strategy defined for technical sourcing/procurement. To manage the RFQ/supplier selection process.

POSITION INFO:

RAILWAY INDUSTRY

Key Requirements:

Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent N3 certification
Recognise qualification in Procurement Management and/or Supply Chain Management
A technical qualification, e.g. Diploma or Degree in Engineering will be an advantage
Certification (CIPS- Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply chain management)

Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

5 years’ reliable experience in the logistics and/or rail maintenance industry
At least 5 years’ experience in technical/buying relating to locomotives and/or yellow equipment
At least 5 years’ experience in managing supplier relationship
Knowledge of Sourcing, quality activity, proficiency in using procurement software and tools (ERP)
Vendor management
Cost reduction
Contract Management
Compliance and Risk Management
Continuous Improvement
Quality
Cost delivery and Transformation/BBBEE
