JOB CONTEXT:

We are looking for an experienced Technical Lead, you will lead our Laravel-based development initiatives, architect scalable solutions, and guide your team in building enterprise-level applications. You'll be responsible for making key technical decisions while mentoring other developers in Laravel best practices and modern PHP development. You must demonstrate a thorough understanding of Laravel and other related technologies, tools, and frameworks.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Research, troubleshoot, debug issues and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
• Make recommendations and identify opportunities for improvements in our standards, processes, frameworks, and tools.
• Contribute and advocate internal standards and best practices.
• Contribute to your team, projects, and company documentation.
• Contribute to the open-source projects
• Assist and mentor team members with troubleshooting, optimizations, tasks, and general queries.
• Develop features and improvements according to a clearly defined set of requirements.
• Ensure that your team’s code meets internal standards and best practices.
• Collaborate and coordinate alongside product design, project management and sales team members.
• Assist with estimations of work
• Run product demonstrations of completed work to clients and other project stakeholders.
• Actively participate in client workshops and project status calls.
• Lead Laravel application architecture and design decisions.
• Establish coding standards and best practices for Laravel development.
• Review and optimize Laravel application performance.
• Guide database schema design and Eloquent model relationships.
• Oversee API development using Laravel's built-in tools.
• Implement and maintain Laravel security best practices.
• Lead code reviews with focus on Laravel conventions.

• Advanced understanding of JavaScript, CSS, HTML.
• Advanced understanding of at least one of the following frameworks: ReactJS, VueJS or AngularJS.
• Solid understanding of at least one of the following CSS frameworks: Tailwind, Bootstrap or Foundation.
• Solid understanding of CSS preprocessors such as SASS or LESS.
• Solid understanding of responsive design.
• Solid understanding with various layout frameworks, such as Flexbox or Grid.
• Experience with automated e2e testing frameworks, such as Dusk or Cypress an advantage.
• Experience with Laravel Blade templating.
• Proficiency with Laravel Mix/Vite.
• Knowledge of Laravel Livewire (optional).
• Experience integrating modern frontend frameworks with Laravel backends.

• Advanced understanding of Laravel.
• Solid understanding of TypeScript.
• Experience with automated unit testing frameworks, such as PHPUnit.
• Advanced understanding of Laravel ecosystem (Envoyer, Forge, Horizon).
• Experience with Laravel design patterns and architectural concepts.
• Proficiency with Laravel's testing framework.
• Experience with Laravel queue systems and job scheduling.
• Understanding of Laravel's service container and dependency injection.

• Advanced understanding of Git as well as various branching strategies, such as GitFlow or Trunk-based development.
• Experience with at least one of the following: GitHub, GitLab or Atlassian Bitbucket.
• Experience with at least one of the following: Laravel Envoyer, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, CircleCI, Travis.

• Solid understanding and experience with at least one of the following MySQL, PostgreSQL.
• Experience with a NoSQL database, such as MongoDB.
• Experience with Redis or equivalent.
• Advanced knowledge of Laravel's Eloquent ORM.
• Experience with Laravel migrations and seeders.
• Proficiency with Laravel's query builder.
• Experience with database optimization in Laravel applications Infrastructure & Cloud.
• Experience with at least one of the following cloud providers: Azure, AWS, Digital Ocean.
• Experience with Containerization related technologies will be advantageous.

• Knowledgeable of microservice architectures. Experience is advantageous.

• Attention to detail. Must be conscious of user experience, performance, security.
• Excellent communication skills. Must be able to communicate timeously, clearly, and accurately.
• Stay up to date with emerging technologies and trends.
• Must be a team player.
• Self-motivated and solution orientated.
