SUMMARY:
Job Title: Technical Engineer
Location: Centurion

Our client, in the solar sector, is looking to employ a Technical Engineer to join their team in Centurion.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Design and Implementation: Design and oversee the installation of solar energy systems, including photovoltaic (PV) panels, inverters, and energy storage solutions, integrated with medium voltage electrical systems.
Medium Voltage Systems: Manage the design, installation, and commissioning of medium voltage systems (e.g., 11kV, 33kV), including transformers, switchgear, and protection systems.
Technical Support: Provide technical support for the solar and electrical engineering teams during the execution of projects. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to both solar systems and medium voltage equipment.
Project Management: Assist in project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation for solar and medium voltage infrastructure projects. Ensure timely and budget-compliant project delivery.
Safety and Compliance: Ensure that all designs, installations, and operations comply with safety standards, industry regulations, and local electrical codes. Conduct risk assessments and implement safety protocols during all stages of the project.
System Optimization: Analyze system performance and propose improvements for efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness in solar and electrical systems.
Testing and Commissioning: Oversee the testing and commissioning of both solar and medium voltage systems to ensure they meet all technical specifications and performance criteria.

POSITION INFO:
Experience and Qualifications:

Degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy or related field
3 – 5 years of experience in Electrical Engineering, specifically in solar
Experience in working with Medium Voltage
Experience in working with Solar Design Software (PVsyst, Helioscope)
Proficient with drawing programs such as AutoCAD, Revit or Solidworks
