Technical Assistant

SUMMARY:
As the Technical Assistant you will assist the Engineering department in all areas of maintenance pertaining to the following, but not limited to: Company aircraft, hanger/ facility, all equipment and company vehicles.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist Engineers with maintenance of the company`s aircraft and ensuring that the recommended manufacturers maintenance procedures and practises are adhered to.
- Adhering to all company policies, procedures and manuals.
- Maintenance of all ground support equipment and when outsourced maintenance is required, liaise with senior personnel to obtain quotes and oversee required maintenance.
- Keep to Cleanliness Standards as per the Civil Aviation Regulations, 2011, as amended.
- Aircraft towing.
- Aircraft cleaning.
- Assist engineers with aircraft arrivals and departures.
- Offload and load arriving and departing aircraft baggage bays.
- Drive passenger vehicles from the aircraft parking bay to the vehicle parking bay.
- Dealing with passengers at a minimal level.
- Assisting all maintenance personnel, as requested.

Knowledge / Qualification:
- Minimum Tertiary Qualification – Grade 12
- Valid drivers license (Code 08)
- Minimum 5 years aviation experience
- Experience in maintenance of aircraft an advantage
- Knowledge of Microsoft office (MS-Excel, MS-Word, Outlook)

Experience:
- Minimum of five (5) years aviation.
- Basic knowledge of South African Civil Aviation Regulations, 2011, as amended.

Additional training:
- Be prepared to be evaluated and attend performance reviews as required by aviation legislation.
- Attend skill and refresher training/courses as and when required.
- Will be required to do working on heights training and be able to work at heights if required.
