SUMMARY:
Our client in the Oil and Gas industry is looking to employ an experienced and strategic Tax Manager

POSITION INFO:

Our client in the Oil and Gas industry is looking to employ an experienced and strategic Tax Manager. As the main tax liaison you will be responsible to deal with all stakeholders both internal and external. If you have the relevant experience and qualifications, please apply.

Responsibilities:

Identify and assess tax risks and implement controls to mitigate risks
Maintain effective relationships with external tax advisors and tax authorities
Track changes in tax laws and regulations, advise management on business impact
Participate in the FIASA Indirect Tax forum and represent the views of the company
Implement tax plans in line with business objectives
Manage tax strategies and identify tax optimisation opportunities
Provide guidance to management and internal stakeholders on tax implications of business decisions
Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize company's tax position and minimize tax liabilities
Stay current on changes in tax laws and regulations
Research tax laws and regulations, identify tax saving opportunities
Act as liaison for tax audits and inquiries from tax authorities
Manage and represent company tax audit adjustments from Revenue Authorities
Respond to audit requests and represent the company in talks with auditors
Liaise with external auditors provide documents and explanations as necessary

Requirements:

Qualification: CA(SA) or Law degree, Masters degree in Taxation or ralated adventageous
Solid knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and tax laws
Minimum of 6 years' relevant experience, previous management experience adventageous
Strong, established working relationship with SARS
Experience in managing Income tax (in the manufacturing environment), VAT, Payroll taxes, Customs and Excise taxes
Able to communicate complex tax concepts concisely
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong interpersonal able to collaborate effectively with diverse teams
Excellent verbal and written communication and report writing skills
