Job Description

Our client has an opportunity for a qualified individual to join their team in the capacity of a Management Accountant. The successful applicant will be responsible for the following:

• Develop and maintain costing processes and procedures
• Oversee the management accounting function
• Identify cost accounting risks, develop and implement mitigating strategies
• Implement and maintain sound internal controls
• Implement and maintain sound internal controls
• Interface and train users regularly regarding budget control and variance reports
• Oversee plant maintenance module and ensure accurate reporting at month end
• Report on variances between budgets, commitments and expenditure
• Plan, select, develop and maintain suitable manpower capabilities for area of responsibility
• Identify and timeously address problems and opportunities
• Facilitate and resolve conflicting issues or requirements
• Manage the designated area within time and budget
• Other related duties

Qualifications

• Honours Degree in Accounting or Cost and Management Accounting or Equivalent
• Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA)

Skills

• 10 years’ relevant financial experience, of which 3 years should have been in a Costing Role
• Knowledge of Internal Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
• Knowledge of relevant legislation
• Proficiency in computerised financial systems (SAP)
• Ability to work under pressure
• Attentive to detail
