POSITION INFO:
Our client in Qatar is seeking a Snr Quality Controller specialising in Steelworks to join their team for a two-year contract.

Requirements:

• ITI or Trade Apprenticeship in a relevant field.
• NDT and Quality-related certifications are an added advantage.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Quality Controller (Steel Works) in a Shipyard, specialising in ship repair or shipbuilding.
• Alternatively, candidates with higher secondary education must have at least 4 years of experience as a Production Quality Controller in a Shipyard.
• Strong knowledge of welding procedures, material testing, and steel fabrication standards.
• Familiarity with ISO, HSE, and shipyard quality control processes.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-precision environment.

• Perform in-process and post-production quality inspections on steel works.
• Verify that workmanship and materials comply with project specifications and industry standards.
• Monitor fabrication, welding, and assembly processes to ensure adherence to quality procedures.
• Review and interpret technical drawings, work instructions, and quality control manuals.
• Conduct non-destructive testing (NDT) inspections and document findings.
• Ensure quality compliance with ISO, HSE, and shipyard quality assurance policies.
• Identify and report non-conformities, defects, and deviations in steel structures and welded components.
• Assist in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation for quality-related issues.
• Maintain detailed records of inspections, tests, and certifications for project documentation.
• Coordinate with production, engineering, and project management teams to resolve quality concerns.
• Conduct quality training sessions for production staff to enhance compliance with standards.
