Stress Engineer

SUMMARY:

We’re looking for a talented Stress Engineer to join our team and contribute to the design and development of complex engineering systems. In this critical role, you will ensure that our products meet the highest standards of performance, safety, and reliability.

POSITION INFO:

Key Responsibilities

• Perform stress analysis on mechanical and structural components using industry-standard software (ANSYS, Abaqus, NASTRAN, etc.).
• Assess material properties and perform fatigue, thermal, and dynamic analysis.
• Collaborate with design teams to identify and resolve potential stress-related issues.
• Provide technical support during product development, testing, and manufacturing phases.
• Prepare detailed engineering reports, calculations, and recommendations for design improvements.
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards, codes, and regulations (e.g., ASME, ASTM, ISO).
• Assist in the validation and verification of designs through simulation and testing.
• Work closely with clients to understand requirements and provide expert advice on stress-related concerns.

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in stress engineering, structural analysis, or a related field.
• Strong background in applying finite element analysis (FEA) and hand calculations for stress, fatigue, and thermal analysis.
• Experience with materials selection, failure analysis, and design optimization.
• Previous experience in industries like aerospace, automotive, energy, or manufacturing is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of relevant industry standards and codes (e.g., ASME, API, etc.).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Master’s degree or further specialization in Stress/Structural Engineering is a plus.
• Proficiency in FEA software (ANSYS, Abaqus, NASTRAN, etc.).
• Strong understanding of material science, mechanics of materials, and fatigue analysis.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Professional certifications (e.g., Chartered Engineer, or equivalent) are advantageous.
