SUMMARY:
Our client is looking for a detail-oriented Storeman/Storeroom Operator to oversee the receipt, storage, issuance, and maintenance of tools, consumables, and materials.
The ideal candidate will ensure efficient storeroom operations while maintaining strict inventory control to support workshop and installation teams.
POSITION INFO:
Position: Storeman/Storeroom Operator
Location: Killarney Gardens, Cape Town
Reports To: Branch Manager
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Qualifications & Skills:
- Proven experience in storeroom or inventory management, preferably in a workshop or manufacturing environment.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Proficiency with inventory management software and tools.
- Ability to perform basic maintenance and repairs on tools and equipment.
- Effective communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Physically capable of performing the duties of the role.
Goods Handling & Inventory Management:- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming goods.
- Maintain accurate stock records and label all items correctly.
Stock Issuance & Tracking:- Pick, pack, and issue consumables to workshop and installation teams.
- Monitor stock levels and place timely orders to prevent shortages.
Asset & Tool Management:- Register and track tools, ensuring timely returns.
- Conduct regular maintenance and repairs on tools.
- Charge all power tool batteries and walkies daily.
Storage & Security:- Maintain security of storeroom and steel container.
- Keep the workspace clean and organized for operational efficiency.
Documentation & Compliance:- Maintain delivery notes, invoices, and asset registers.
- Conduct monthly stock takes and report discrepancies.
Operational Support:- Assist with manufacturing and installation deadlines.
- Support workshop maintenance and packaging of international orders.
