Our client in George is looking for a reliable and efficient Storeman to join their team. If you're detail-oriented, organized, and have experience managing stock and inventory, we would love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Storeroom work/ Stock handling.
- Messenger work/ Deliveries
- Carrying out tasks such as repair work in the storeroom with the manager's approval (handyman- type work)
- Vehicle washing
- Keeping the storeroom clean (Cleaning)
- Updating stock records (admin work)
- Ordering and recording stock (admin work)
- Receive, inspect, and record incoming products and materials
- Organize and store inventory of goods, tools, and components.
- Ensure accurate stock levels and track inventory using warehouse management systems.
- Pick, pack, and prepare products for dispatch to customers and projects.
- Maintain clean and organized storage areas for easy access to products.
- Conduct regular stock audits and report discrepancies or shortages.
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines when handling electrical items.
- Coordinate with the purchasing and sales teams to manage stock levels and delivery schedules.
- Ensure all health and safety protocols are met in the warehouse environment.
Requirements:
- Grade 10
- Valid driver's license.
- Extremely reliable/ honest (may be subjected to a polygraph test if necessary)/ will be working with a lot of expensive stock
- Must be able to work under pressure
- Must be a person who think independently and logically and must be highly observant and security-conscious
- Previous experience as a storeman, warehouse assistant, or in a similar role.
- Knowledge of inventory management systems (WMS) and basic computer skills.
- Ability to handle electrical products and materials safely and efficiently.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
- Physical stamina for lifting and organizing stock.
- Good communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a warehouse environment
