Spray painter

SUMMARY:
We currently looking for a Spray painter around the central Durban  & Pinetown area to prepare, spray, and finish vehicles to the highest standard, ensuring quality repairs and refinishing work is completed according to manufacturer and industry specifications.

POSITION INFO:
Requirements:

• Grade 10/12 (Matric) preferred.
• Trade Test Certificate in Spray Painting (advantageous).
• Relevant certification in automotive refinishing (advantageous).

• Excellent spray-painting and refinishing skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to achieve high-quality finishes.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Good understanding of vehicle bodywork preparation and refinishing techniques.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations in the automotive industry.
• Team player with good communication skills.

• Workshop environment with exposure to chemicals, fumes, and dust.
• Use of protective equipment such as masks, gloves, and overalls.
• Physical demands, including standing for long hours and handling heavy equipment.

• Prepare vehicles for painting, including sanding, masking, and priming.
• Mix and match paint colors to manufacturer specifications.
• Apply primer, base coat, and clear coat using spray guns and other equipment.
• Ensure high-quality finishing, free from defects such as runs, sags, or orange peel.
• Perform touch-ups and polishing to meet customer expectations.
• Maintain and clean spray booths, equipment, and tools.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations, including the correct use of PPE.
• Work efficiently to meet deadlines and production targets.
• Assist in minor panel beating and preparation when required.
• Follow standard operating procedures and manufacturer guidelines.
