Are you a strategic thinker with a proven track record in a chemical product manufacturing environment? We are seeking a dynamic Sourcing & Strategy Manager to develop and implement effective strategies for sourcing, demand & supply, inventory management, S&OP, and customs.

POSITION INFO:

Sourcing & Strategy Manager (EE)

Area: Montaque Gardens, Cape Town

Package: R1 000 000 CTC P/M

Purpose: Are you a strategic thinker with a proven track record in a chemical product manufacturing environment? We are seeking a dynamic Sourcing & Strategy Manager to develop and implement effective strategies for sourcing, demand & supply, inventory management, S&OP, and customs.

Duties:

Sourcing.

• Responsible for Packaging, Raw Materials, Finished Goods purchasing locally & Imports.
• Manage Inventory levels for the company – Value & DIO to set targets.
• Lead monthly inventory reviews with all stakeholders.
• Lead the implementation of S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning Process).
• Monitor and review Supplier performance to agreed SLA’s quarterly / annually.
• Evaluate SOS options with Regional Sourcing Group to optimise supply and local company profitability and margins.
• Lead sales forecast improvement methodology & measure forecast accuracy.
• Evaluate, monitor & improve order placement / buy process.
• Collaborate with internal functions Marketing, Finance, Sales, R&D on aligned targets.
• Strategic Supplier negotiations, contract implementation & annual benchmarking.
• Risk management - Identify & develop risk matrix with effective risk mitigation plans.
• Able to manage own buying portfolio.
• Track & evaluate price variations and take corrective action.
• Integrate local Procurement team with Regional / Global counterparts.

Planning

• Responsible for the management of Demand & Supply planning process.
• Achieve & exceed OTIF target of 96%.
• Collaborate with Production to ensure smooth product supply of RM and packaging.
• Ensure optimum stock levels at all warehouses nationally.

Imports / Customs

• Responsible for Imports, Clearing & Forwarding, Customs Compliance and Regulations.
• C&F agents – 3^rd party service providers SLA’s / KPI’s

Administration / Projects / Reporting

• Lead projects to drive efficiency, process improvements & cost reduction.
• Responsible for all reporting (local, regional and Global) for areas of responsibility.
• Drive insights and statistical analysis related to business trends / seasonality.
• Lead / participate in cross functional Supply Chain projects.
• Responsible for Sourcing elements of BBBEE

Organization Development / Finance

• Continuous improvement/review to ensure best practices are implemented.
• Monitor and meet departmental performance objectives.
• Achieve & exceed SMART objectives as agreed.
• To ensure achievement of budget and agreed financial targets.
• Monitor & report on budget monthly and taken corrective actions on deviations.
• Authorize departmental expenses & approve contracts in line DOA.

Audits / Compliance

• Implement, monitor, review and improve internal controls in line with ISO.
• Ensure Compliance to Procurement policies and procedures.
• Manage Company internal & external audits.

People management

• Provide hands on Supervision / Management to areas of responsibility.
• Review KPA’s, performance reviews & management.
• Manage IR / discipline within policy and code guidelines.
• Motivate, coach, train, and development direct reports to achieve operational goals.
• Develop high performance team culture.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

Education:

• Matric with maths and accountancy as subjects.
• Degree in Procurement, Finance or Supply Chain

Technical Skills

• Computer literacy and proficient in working with SAP, Syspro, ClickView, Eco Time, VIP essential and Microsoft office programmes with advanced Excel skills.

Experience:

• 12+ years of experience in Procurement & Planning. 6+ years at Management level.
• Strong knowledge of sourcing, manufacturing planning, customs & supply chain management
• Proven leadership and team management skills
  • Ability to influence at Exco level in the organisation & operate in global matrix organisation.
