SUMMARY:
Our client, a leader in the financial services industry, is looking for a passionate Software Engineer Team Lead to guide their talented team.

POSITION INFO:
Software Engineer Team Lead
Cape Town, Hybrid

Qualifications:

Matric or equivalent
Formal programming qualification (advantageous)

Requirements:

Over 2 years of leadership experience
More than 8 years of experience as a software developer
Experience with PHP (advantageous)
Proven experience in architecting, developing, testing, and deploying systems
Knowledge of software development methodologies
Familiarity with caching, version control, message queues, issue tracking, monitoring, database transactions, and testing methodologies

Champion agile processes within the team
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members
Collaborate with the Product Owner to prioritize tasks and manage the backlog
Ensure high-quality development and delivery standards
Remove obstacles and minimize disruptions to enhance team performance
Integrate security as a core component of all solutions
Contribute practical insights to strategic technology decisions
Stay current with industry trends and standards
Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to ensure successful project development and delivery
Oversee general management tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the development team
Set clear performance expectations for the team
Monitor and enforce staff compliance with HR policies and procedures
Manage recruitment and promotion processes in accordance with HR policies
Motivate the team and identify opportunities for their professional development
