Responsibility:
Safety, Health and Environment
Ensure compliance with the Mine Health and Safety Act
Production:
Oversee the effectiveness of production plan ensure continuous improvement to optimize
profitability
Ensure optimal and cost-effective utilization of labour and plant in mining activities
Labour Management:
Ensure compliance with HRM strategy
Drive performance management culture on site
Minimum Requirements:
National Senior Certificate
National Diploma or B Degree in Mining
Must have a Mine Manager Certificate (Government Certificate of Competency)
Tertiary managerial qualification will be advantageous
At least 10 years’ experience open cast mining environment
Previous track record in a managerial position is required
Knowledge / Competencies /Abilities:
Valid drivers’ licence
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
PC Proficient including Microsoft Excel
Must be medically fit and pass a medical examination
