Service Advisor – Commercial Vehicles

POSITION INFO:

About the Role:

Join our client’s team as a Service Advisor for commercial vehicles. You’ll be the go-to person for ensuring top-notch service and smooth operations in the workshop.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure all work meets customer requirements and authorizations.
• Print and forward specifications/readjustments  .
• Liaise with stakeholders on repair outcomes.
• Minimize idle time by assisting with service and repairs.
• Maintain workshop productivity standards.
• Report and address productivity/quality issues promptly.

Customer Service:

• Deliver “fix right first time” service excellence.
• Maintain and improve customer service index percentages.
• Conduct accurate vehicle diagnoses.
• Obtain authorization for additional work.
• Ensure vehicles are tested for quality.
• Pre-cost jobs and invoice before customer collection.
• Provide timely updates to customers on delays.
• Explain all work done at handover.
• Follow up on customer inquiries and complaints.
• Adhere to procedures for loan cars.

Finance and Administration:

• Plan daily activities effectively.
• Meet labor sales and performance targets.
• Manage and control expenses.
• Pre-write job cards.
• Record warranty claims accurately.
• Use progress control to meet deadlines.
• Manage Work In Progress (WIP) strictly.
• Monitor and control cash outstanding.
• Ensure correct payments are obtained.
• Follow credit control procedures.

Product, Technical & Business Knowledge:

• Stay updated on industry developments (new products, warranty, maintenance).
• Attend all required product and technical training.

Qualifications:

• Minimum Grade 12.
• Computer literate (experience with Kerridge preferred).
• 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role.
• Knowledge of the motor industry is preferable.
• Certified Service Advisor (advantageous).
• Valid driver’s license.
