Senior Technical Writer

SUMMARY:
Our client in the mining industry based in Sandton is looking for a Senior Technical Writer to join their team

POSITION INFO:
Minimum requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in technical writing, with a strong portfolio demonstrating structured, audience-focused documentation
• Experience working with software documentation, particularly mobile, desktop or cloud applications
• Familiarity with structured documentation systems (e.g., Confluence, Markdown or Docusaurus)

• Develop and maintain client-facing guides (user manuals, FAQs, best practices) while ensuring key intellectual property is protected
• Design and maintain internal documentation repositories to support technical teams
• Create structured developer onboarding materials, including coding standards and system architecture overviews
• Establish and manage a documentation strategy to ensure content is scalable, searchable and easy to update

• Work closely with developers, product managers and technicians to gather and refine content
• Translate complex technical concepts into simple, actionable documentation
• Implement feedback loops with clients and internal teams to improve documentation usability

• If experienced, produce video tutorials and internal training content to complement written materials
• Support interactive learning materials to improve engagement
• Experience with video-based training content creation (e.g., screen recordings, tutorials)
• Knowledge of single-sourcing techniques to manage content efficiently across multiple formats
