SUMMARY:
Our client, a leading engineering consultancy, is seeking an experienced Senior Resident Engineer to oversee a major roads refurbishment project. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled professional to play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful delivery of infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate must be a registered Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) with the ECSA and possess extensive experience in road rehabilitation and refurbishment.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities:

Provide expert supervision and management of road refurbishment and rehabilitation projects.
Oversee contractor activities, ensuring compliance with design specifications, contractual obligations, and safety regulations.
Conduct regular site inspections, quality assurance checks, and progress reporting.
Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
Lead and coordinate a team of Engineers, Technicians, and site personnel.
Ensure adherence to relevant engineering standards (SANRAL, SANS, etc.) and local authority requirements.
Resolve technical issues on-site and liaise with clients, stakeholders, and local authorities.
Provide mentorship and technical guidance to Junior Engineers.

Key Requirements:

ECSA registration as a Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) or Professional Technologist (Pr Tech Eng) – Essential.
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
Minimum 10 years’ experience in roads refurbishment/rehabilitation projects.
Strong knowledge of bitumen, asphalt resurfacing, pavement rehabilitation, and drainage systems.
Previous experience working on SANRAL or municipal road projects is highly advantageous.
Proficiency in FIDIC, GCC, or NEC contract administration.
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
