POSITION INFO:
Our client is an industry-leading construction firm with a portfolio of large-scale commercial, residential, and infrastructure projects. Their commitment to excellence has earned them a reputation for delivering high-quality projects on time and within budget. As they continue to grow, they are looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to ensure the financial success of our projects and contribute to their ongoing success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cost Management: Oversee all project costs from inception to completion, ensuring maximum value for money.
- Contract Administration: Prepare, manage, and monitor contracts and subcontracts, ensuring compliance with legal and client requirements.
- Valuations & Variations: Conduct regular site visits to assess and verify the value of work completed and manage variations with clients and subcontractors.
- Risk Management: Identify, analyze, and mitigate potential project risks related to cost and contracts.
- Reporting: Provide detailed, timely cost reports to senior management, highlighting any financial risks or opportunities.
- Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and site teams to ensure smooth delivery of projects.
What We’re Looking For:- Experience: Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with at least 3 years on construction sites.
- Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field. RICS or equivalent certification is preferred.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of contract law, construction contracts (JBCC, FIDIC, etc.), and cost control techniques.
- Analytical Skills: Excellent attention to detail with the ability to analyze complex data and manage budgets effectively.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, capable of building relationships with clients, contractors, and colleagues.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to mentor junior team members and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Problem-Solving: Quick-thinking with the ability to resolve issues that arise on-site efficiently.
