A vacancy exists for a Senior Professional Nurse - Theatre. To ensure a safe, positive patient experience by supporting the unit manager in the co-ordination of patient care and management of the unit.

POSITION INFO:
Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensure comprehensive and safe patient care by mitigating risks and meeting clinical quality standards
• Manage the patient experience
• Ensure optimal supply, retention and utilization of staffing resources
• Empower and build staff competence through continuous assessments and development
• Assist with the effective management of operational expenses (including stock and capital)

• Degree/ Diploma in General Nursing
• 3 years post qualification experience

• Pharmacology
• Nursing record keeping
• Nursing processes and procedures
• Computer literate
• Relevant nursing legislation
• Infection prevention and control
• Scientific nursing principles and process
• Audit patient records
• Patient assessment skills
• Develop/ modify a nursing care plan
• Scope of practice for nurse practitioners
• For specialized wards; ACLS, ATLS, PALS trained
• Risk identification
• Analyzing and interpretation skills
• Basic life support trained
• Mentorship
