Senior Process Project Engineer

SUMMARY:
Our client specializes in project support for the (petro)chemical and maritime industries. They provide personnel in the areas of Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Operations, Maintenance, and Safety. They are seeking a Senior Process Project Engineer to join
their team in the Netherlands.

Non- negotiable qualifications and experience required:

• Education: Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: 5-10 years of experience in process engineering, with at least 3 years in a project management or senior engineering role.
• Process Design Expertise: Extensive experience with process design, simulation tools, and optimization techniques, including proficiency with tools such as Aspen Plus, HYSYS, or similar.
• Location Requirement: Candidates should either be South African residents currently living in the Netherlands or South Africans willing to relocate to the Netherlands.
• Fluency in Afrikaans (both written and spoken).

• Project Management Skills: Strong project management skills, with experience in handling multiple projects simultaneously and knowledge of project management tools and methodologies (e.g., PMP, Agile).
• Problem-Solving & Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to address complex engineering challenges and make data-driven decisions.

• Project Management: Lead and manage process engineering projects from initiation to completion, ensuring that all project deliverables meet client requirements, schedules, and budgets.
• Process Design & Optimization: Develop and optimize process designs, including flow diagrams, process simulations, and detailed specifications, to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams including engineering, operations, and quality assurance to ensure seamless project execution and resolve any technical issues.
• Risk Management & Problem-Solving: Identify and assess potential risks throughout the project lifecycle and develop effective mitigation strategies to address any challenges or process disruptions.
• Continuous Improvement: Drive process improvement initiatives, utilizing lean and Six Sigma methodologies, to increase productivity and improve overall system performance.
