SUMMARY:
Our client specializes in project support for the (petro)chemical and maritime industries. They provide personnel in the areas of Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Operations, Maintenance, and Safety. They are seeking a Senior Planning Engineer to join their team in the Netherlands.

POSITION INFO:

Non- negotiable qualifications and experience required:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
Minimum of 6-10 years of experience in project planning and scheduling, preferably within large-scale industrial or petrochemical projects.
Strong proficiency in Primavera P6 and MS Project, with proven ability to create, manage, and analyze complex schedules.
Location Requirement: Candidates should either be South African residents currently living in the Netherlands or South Africans willing to relocate to the Netherlands.
Fluency in Afrikaans (both written and spoken).

Beneficial requirements:

Solid understanding of project management principles, including critical path analysis, EVM, and schedule risk management.
Excellent analytical skills with a meticulous approach to schedule accuracy and detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration across departments and with external partners.

Duties and responsibilities:

Develop, maintain, and update comprehensive project schedules, covering all phases from design through to commissioning.
Collaborate with project management, engineering, and construction teams to define project milestones, deliverables, and timelines.
Conduct schedule risk assessments to identify potential delays, dependencies, and conflicts, proposing mitigation strategies to minimize impacts.
Perform schedule analysis, including earned value management (EVM), and report on project progress against planned timelines.
Provide regular updates and reports to project leadership, highlighting schedule performance, variances, and corrective actions required.
