POSITION INFO:

Job Description:

Design Leadership: Lead the creation of premium product enclosures, integrating advanced electronics. Develop 3D CAD models and 2D technical drawings using tools like SolidWorks, CATIA, or Fusion 360 for production.
Aesthetic & Functional Integration: Combine industrial design and engineering to create visually appealing, durable, and ergonomic enclosures, optimized for thermal management and assembly.
Manufacturability & Prototyping: Validate designs through rapid prototyping methods (e.g., 3D printing, CNC machining) and ensure manufacturability, working with partners to meet design and cost targets.
Material & Process Expertise: Select materials and finishes that enhance the product’s appearance and performance and implement advanced fabrication techniques using software such as CAM software for CNC machining.
Cross-functional collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to ensure innovative product development, utilizing collaboration tools like Jira, Confluence, and Slack. Provide leadership in enclosure engineering.
Continuous Innovation: Stay updated on trends in design and materials, applying new insights to improve products based on user feedback and testing using data analysis tools such as MATLAB or Excel.

Skills & Experience:

Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, Fusion 360) and strong sketching and visualization skills.
Demonstrated expertise in material selection, thermal management, and structural analysis (including FEA).
Experience with rapid prototyping techniques and transitioning designs from concept to mass production.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, injection moulding, and surface finishing.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a startup environment.
A keen eye for design aesthetics and a passion for creating products that are both beautiful and functional.
Minimum 8+ years of experience in product enclosure design for consumer electronics, with a proven track record in designing premium, high-quality housings.

Qualification:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design
Familiarity with industrial design software and rendering tools (e.g., KeyShot, Alias) - Advantageous
