Position: Senior Maintenance Fitter
Location: Isando
Client: Confidential
A prestigious opportunity has arisen for a Senior Maintenance Fitter with one of our esteemed clients in Isando. We are seeking a highly skilled individual to ensure optimal plant availability through expert mechanical repairs, maintenance, plant modifications, and installations. The role demands adherence to strict standards in line with NOSA, O.H.S.A, and BSI ISO 9001:2000 regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Plant Maintenance & Repairs: Ensure that all maintenance, modifications, and repairs are executed to maintain plant availability at a minimum of 97%.
Timely Execution: Complete tasks assigned by the Engineering Manager and Maintenance Foreman according to established standards and within specified timeframes.
Preventative Maintenance: Carry out preventative maintenance and daily monitoring of equipment. Promptly report any issues to the Engineering Manager.
Collaboration: Liaise with production teams to identify and address potential problem areas within the plant.
Emergency Response: Respond swiftly to plant breakdowns, ensuring rapid resolution. Breakdowns outside of regular working hours must be reported to the Engineering Manager within 10 minutes.
Continuous Improvement: Offer suggestions and ideas for plant improvements to the Engineering Manager.
Safety Compliance: Execute all tasks in accordance with safety regulations, legislative requirements, and company policies, ensuring a safe work environment.
Quality Assurance: Uphold the highest standards of quality and service in maintenance, modifications, fabrication, or installations.
Correct Startup Procedures: Ensure proper startup procedures are followed for all equipment.

POSITION INFO:

SHERQ (Safety, Health, Environment, Risk, and Quality):

Maintain responsibility for personal safety and compliance with all health, safety, quality, and environmental policies, procedures, laws, and by-laws.
Identify hazards, assess associated risks, and implement appropriate control measures to mitigate identified risks.

Required Knowledge & Skills:

Qualifications: Standard 10 / N3 Trade Test in Fitting.
Experience: Proven experience in the maintenance of machines in a production environment (Boiler Making, Turning, Welding, Machinery).
Technical Expertise: Solid knowledge in Basic Welding, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Gearboxes, Pumps, and Distribution Systems.
Communication: Proficient in reading, writing, and communicating in English.
Standards Knowledge: Strong understanding of OHSA, NOSA, and BSI ISO 9001:2000 standards.
Autonomy: Ability to work with minimal supervision and under pressure.
