SUMMARY:
Our client, a high-end interior design firm based in Sandton requires a Senior Interior Designer.
POSITION INFO:
Responsibilities:
This person should be able to collaborate seamlessly with clients, as well as other designers, architects, contractors, fabricators, artisans, and developers on multiple projects.
Liaise with clients and third parties directly, including on-site visits/management
Responsible for material sourcing and specification, custom furniture design, visual research, furniture sourcing, in addition to maintaining budgets and project timelines.
Prepare and develop presentation, drawings, models, mood boards and other concept material
Creating project documentation including the submission of a full drawing set, specification writing, schedules, and construction administration and consultant coordination.
Keep abreast of design trends.
Requirements:
Minimum of 4 - 5 years experience in interior design
Relevant degree from an accredited school
Experience of Renovation, Refurbishment and Restoration projects
Experience in interior architectural design is advantageous as well as extensive decorating experience.
Exceptional presentation skills
Passion for design and an eye for detail
Knowledge of the full design process including concept, schematic, design development, construction documentation, construction administration, procurement, and installation is preferred
High proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Revit, SketchUp, 20/20 and Microsoft Office Suite is preferred
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a willingness to adapt to the daily needs of the company
