Senior Groundwater Numerical Modeller /
Hydrogeologist, Johannesburg
A position for a Groundwater Numerical Modeller has become available at our Johannesburg office, and we invite applications from suitably qualified candidates to join our esteemed team. This role offers a unique opportunity for professional advancement and enhancement of skills. The successful candidate will report directly to the Business Unit Partner in Hydrogeology.

Experience and Skills Required:
The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria:
Professional Registration: Pr.Sci.Nat.
Educational Qualifications: Minimum of a BSc (Hons) in Hydrogeology, MSc is preferred.
Experience: At least 4 years of groundwater numerical modelling experience, and 8 years working as a hydrogeologist.
Technical Proficiency:
- Expertise in data analysis and interpretation of hydrogeological data.
- Experience in the design of conceptual hydrogeological models.
- Proficiency in processing data using Python, GIS, Leapfrog and related tools.
- Evaluating seepage from impoundment facilities.
- Skilled in groundwater numerical flow and contaminant transport modelling.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to:
- Managing projects, including liaising with clients in compliance with SRK’s quality system.
- Compiling technical reports, proposals and presentations.
- Working independently and within project teams as required.
- Collaborating across group disciplines and SRK branches.
- Able to travel locally and international travel as and when necessary.
- Mentoring junior staff members.
- Growing a client base.
