Our client, an established software company with international clientele, based in Cape Town, is looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer (Data) to join them for a one-year contract.

Requirements:

• At least 8 years of experience in a software engineering or development role
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline
• Demonstrated expertise in data engineering and platform development
• Required tech stack: Data Platforms, Data Engineering, Spark, Scala, Java, Gradle

• As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in advancing data platform development. You’ll leverage cutting-edge technologies such as Spark, Scala, Java, and Gradle to design and enhance data pipelines that drive personalized music recommendations.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, resilient data pipelines using Spark.
• Write high-quality code in Scala and Java, following data engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver data engineering solutions that meet project goals.
• Modernize legacy pipelines to ensure seamless data management and configuration.
• Use Gradle for build automation and dependency management.
• Participate in continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) to optimize development workflows.
• Mentor peers and conduct code reviews to promote technical excellence.
