Senior Financial Reporting Specialist

POSITION INFO:
As a Senior Financial Reporting Specialist, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with IFRS and other relevant standards. The ideal candidate will be a qualified Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) with 2-3 years of post-articles experience, who possesses strong technical skills and a passion for delivering high-quality financial information.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
• Assist in the consolidation of group financial statements, including intercompany reconciliations and elimination entries.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, regulations, and internal policies.
• Support the preparation of statutory reports and regulatory submissions.
• Conduct variance analysis on financial results, providing insights and recommendations to management.
• Coordinate with external auditors during the audit process, ensuring timely and accurate provision of information.
• Participate in the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring adherence to deadlines.
• Stay updated with the latest changes in accounting standards and assess their impact on the company’s financial reporting.
• Provide technical accounting support and guidance to other members of the finance team.
• Drive process improvements and efficiencies within the financial reporting function.

• Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) with 2-3 years of post-articles experience is essential.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and experience with financial reporting standards.
• Experience in financial statement preparation, consolidation, and compliance.
• Proficiency in financial reporting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) is advantageous.
• Excellent analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience within Financial Services industry is essential.
