Senior Finance & Accounting Manager

SUMMARY:
A global organisation in the International Trade Sector with a presence in Sandton, Johannesburg and Maputo is looking for a highly skilled and strategic Senior Finance & Accounting Manager to oversee financial operations across multiple entities. This role will contribute to a small but dynamic finance team in Sandton, Johannesburg while also managing the accounting functions for the Maputo branch and two subsidiaries.

POSITION INFO:
Role Overview
This is a senior-level role responsible for financial oversight, reporting, compliance, and strategic financial planning. The successful candidate will report directly to the General Manager in Dubai and play a key role in maintaining financial integrity across the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Accounting & Financial Management
• Oversee all financial procedures for the Johannesburg and Maputo branches, as well as subsidiary companies.
• Develop, implement, and maintain effective financial systems.
• Prepare financial accounts, budgets, and financial planning strategies.
• Monitor budget variances and implement cost control measures.

• Manage tax computations and address SARS-related queries.
• Verify VAT returns and tax assessments.
• Provide tax advisors with transfer pricing information.
• Prepare annual SARS Country-by-Country reporting for relevant entities.

• Manage relationships with banking institutions and oversee annual financial facilities.
• Ensure compliance with Reserve Bank and Exchange Control regulations.
• Handle foreign currency transactions and cash flow management for the Maputo branch.

• Prepare financial reports and management accounts as required.
• Provide financial insights to senior management for strategic decision-making.
• Assist with audits and liaise with external audit firms.

• External: Ernst & Young Mozambique, Deloitte Johannesburg & Mozambique, SARS

• Degree: BCom in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional Certification: CA(SA), CMA, or equivalent qualification required.
• Experience: Minimum 5 years in accounting, with international exposure being advantageous.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Advanced IT proficiency (Excel, PowerPoint, financial software)
