Senior Engineer / Technologist (Urban Infrastructure : Water and Waste Water)

SUMMARY:
We are expanding our Urban Infrastructure Division, and we are seeking a professionally registered Civil Engineer or Civil Technologist with a strong technical background and proven experience in the planning, design, and project delivery of large-scale municipal or regional water and wastewater systems.
As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be involved in all project phases—from feasibility studies and detailed design to tender documentation, construction support, and commissioning oversight.
 
Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design of bulk water and wastewater pipelines, pump stations, reservoirs, and treatment facilities
• Conduct hydraulic modelling and analysis using software such as EPANET and IDAS.
• Develop and review technical reports, drawings, and tender documentation
• Oversee contract documentation, BOQs, and compliance with SANS and other regulatory standards
• Provide technical support during construction, including site inspections and responding to RFIs
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including civil, structural, electrical, and environmental professionals
• Engage with clients, authorities, and stakeholders in a professional and solution-driven manner

• BSc / BEng / BTech in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
• Professionally Registered with ECSA (Pr. Eng or Pr. Tech Eng)
• Experience in the design of water and wastewater infrastructure
• Solid experience with bulk pipelines, pump stations, reservoirs, and/or treatment systems
• Proficiency in design software (Civil 3D, AutoCAD, IDAS, REVIT, MS Projects) and hydraulic modelling tools
• Familiarity with relevant design codes and municipal/infrastructure standards
• Strong report-writing and documentation skills
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites
