Senior Embedded Firmware Engineer - Chief Technical Engineer

SUMMARY:
The selected candidate will contribute to application design within the division, which excels in the design, development, manufacturing, and testing of electronic modules.

POSITION INFO:

The division''''s product design expertise lies in creating innovative, battery-powered consumer LED lighting solutions and seamlessly integrating electronic switches into a wide range of consumer products.

Overall purpose:

Ÿ Product design and development of electronic modules for mass production within ISO framework.

Ÿ Research and development of innovating ideas for new product design concepts.

Ÿ Co-ordinating product development, design, testing and production within a team.

Ÿ Managing project scope before, during and after delivery.

Ÿ Provide technical guidance to designated team(s).

Ÿ Support the development of individuals by providing motivation, support, and leadership to promote career growth.

Ÿ Act as a domain specialist and support wider and more in-depth knowledge growth of individuals and teams.

Ÿ High-level direction, product, technical strategies, and technologies.

Core responsibilities include:

Ÿ Capturing customer product requirements in a specification to deliver against.

Ÿ Analog and digital circuit design and schematic capturing and review.

Ÿ Co-ordinating PCB design and layout.

Ÿ Embedded firmware development for MCUs and ASICs.

Ÿ Testing and qualifying prototype products for mass production.

Ÿ Ensuring compliance with customer specifications and requirements.

Ÿ Compliance to sustainability standards.

Ÿ Customer support with integration and design for manufacturing.

Ÿ Technical support of third-party manufacturers during the production process.

Ÿ Support of production and testing team.

Ÿ Maintaining and supporting products post-design (cradle to grave principle).

Ÿ Maintaining QMS system for own products/projects.

Ÿ Development of concept demonstrators and marketing collateral.

Ÿ Collaboration with other teams to support the development of new technology.

Ÿ Distribute information to team members and stakeholders.

Ÿ Collaborating with teams to identify risk and resolve technical problems.

Ÿ Guiding a team through technical issues and challenges.

Ÿ Monitoring and evaluating technical and leadership growth of team members.

Skills required:

Ÿ Project management skills to ensure products are delivered on time according to the customer requirements.

Ÿ Electronic product design and development experience.

Ÿ Any related hands-on experience in product manufacturing, testing and quality assurance.

Ÿ Working knowledge of Altium Designer or similar CAD package.

Ÿ Basic CAD modelling of designs in SolidWorks or similar.

Ÿ Proficient with MCU firmware development in (C, C++) as well as Gitlab for version control.

Ÿ Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to effectively interface with internal teams, external stakeholders and customers.

Ÿ Working knowledge of quality management system (ISO9001:2015) as part of product design and development.

Ÿ Leadership skills to manage and lead a small team, with experience in mentoring and guiding junior engineers.

Ÿ Ability to think strategically and possess a future-focused outlook, contributing to the development of a comprehensive product roadmap that aligns with the company''''s long-term vision.
