A leading organisation is seeking a Senior Economist to provide expert insights that drive strategic decision-making. This role is perfect for an analytical thinker who thrives on macro-economic research, risk assessment, and identifying trade and investment opportunities.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct in-depth country and industry risk analysis to guide strategic decisions
• Lead research projects that highlight trade and investment opportunities for South African exporters
• Develop macro-economic insights and provide high-level presentations to key stakeholders
• Publish impactful articles and represent the organisation on global platforms
• Supervise and mentor junior staff, shaping the next generation of economists

Requirements:

• A Masters Degree in Economics, Econometrics, Political Science, or Development Finance
• 7+ Years of experience in economic research, risk assessment, or industry analysis
• Proficiency in econometric models, Bloomberg, and other financial data tools
• Strong writing and presentation skills, with published articles as a key requirement
• A strategic mindset with the ability to influence decision-making at an executive level.
