Senior Design Engineer

SUMMARY:
A leading company in the engineering and manufacturing sector is looking for a Senior Mechanical/Mechatronic Design Engineer with a solid technical background, excellent problem-solving abilities, and proven experience in design and process development.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities:

• Lead research, concept development, and design for new products and manufacturing solutions
• Develop detailed CAD designs and technical drawing packages
• Mentor and support junior engineers, ensuring high standards and adherence to best practices
• Oversee the manufacturing and testing of prototypes and design concepts
• Collaborate with suppliers and third parties to source custom mechanical components and tooling
• Maintain detailed documentation of all design iterations, experiments, and developments
• Prepare and maintain operation and maintenance manuals, service reports, and calibration documentation
• Conduct root cause analysis for design or process failures
• Perform equipment and process validation/verification testing
• Take ownership of processes and train technicians on new equipment or processes
• Improve and develop quality control procedures for manufacturing operations
• Draft and review test protocols and generate test reports
• Refine or develop coding for PLC, HMI, and other related systems
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, especially within the medical device industry

• Minimum B.Eng or BSc.Eng in Mechanical, Mechatronic, or Biomedical Engineering
• At least 5 years of engineering experience, ideally with some time in the medical device industry (Class III preferred)
• Hands-on experience in manufacturing processes and machine design is highly desirable
• Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work well in a team, and excellent time management skills
