Job Overview:

A skilled and experienced Senior Cost Accountant is required for the Textile or Apparel Manufacturing industry to join the Finance Team. This role involves working closely with the Financial Accountant and relevant stakeholders to assess business expenses and optimize budgets. The position provides financial and accounting support to executives and department heads responsible for setting goals and budgets for the organization.

Key Deliverables:

• Collect and analyse data related to operational costs.
• Set standard costs for manufactured goods.
• Develop and analyse cost standards.
• Conduct cost-volume-profit (CVP) analysis.
• Establish costs for business processes, including administration, labour, and shipping.
• Perform account reconciliations.
• Prepare audit reports and present findings to management.
• Recommend process and policy changes to reduce costs and maximize profits.
• Advise executives and senior management on appropriate costing based on financial data.
• Manage the company’s balance sheet and accounting books.
• Support other accountants with invoicing and capital expenditure management.
• Utilize financial software to identify inconsistencies in operational costs and model potential budget changes.
• Drive financial efficiency and provide data-driven recommendations for decision-making.

• Analyse production costs, including raw materials, overhead expenses, and operational expenditures.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvement.
• Collaborate with relevant departments to implement cost-control measures.
• Perform account reconciliations.

• Manage the company’s balance sheet and accounting records.
• Prepare and analyse monthly and quarterly gross margin reports by product, customer, and business unit.
• Review cost allocation assumptions and rates.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Cost Management.
• Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification is an advantage.
• 5 – 10 years of proven experience as a Cost Accountant.
• Knowledge and understanding of the Apparel or Textile Manufacturing industry, suppliers, and vendors is advantageous.
• Advanced knowledge of mathematics and statistics.
• Strong understanding of organizational accounting concepts.
• Excellent financial analysis skills.
• Ability to prepare financial reports and provide data-driven recommendations.
• Proficiency in financial reporting software tools and ERP systems.
• Experience in risk and security assessments.
• In-depth knowledge of financial regulations and guidelines.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Capacity to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
