New opportunity for Senior Contracts Manager
POSITION INFO:
We are seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Senior Contracts Manager to oversee a high-value R500 Million construction project for the development of a Provincial College Accommodation Facility. This position will be based in Kimberly, Northern Cape, with a contract term of 2 years. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the full lifecycle of the contract, ensuring successful project delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Oversee the successful planning, execution, and delivery of the project. Ensure that all milestones are met in accordance with the project timeline and in compliance with the budget.
- Contract Management: Take full responsibility for managing all aspects of the contract, including negotiations, amendments, and compliance with the terms and conditions.
- Client Liaison: Maintain clear and effective communication with clients, stakeholders, and team members. Ensure that the client’s expectations and satisfaction levels are consistently met.
- Budget Control: Monitor and manage the project’s financial performance. Ensure that the project remains within the allocated budget and control costs where necessary.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that the project is executed to the highest standards of quality, health & safety, and compliance with local regulations and laws.
- Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks to the project’s success, including financial, operational, and safety-related risks.
- Team Leadership: Manage the site team as well as subcontractors, suppliers. Provide guidance and support to junior staff and facilitate a collaborative and efficient work environment.
- Reporting: Provide regular and detailed reports to the senior management team and clients regarding progress, challenges, and key milestones.
- Problem-Solving: Proactively resolve any issues or challenges that arise during the project lifecycle, ensuring minimal delays or disruptions.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum Qualification: National Diploma (ND) in Building or related construction qualification. A higher qualification (such as BTech or Degree in Construction Management) would be an advantage.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 15 years of overall construction project experience.
- At least 5 years experience in a Senior Contracts Manager role, managing large-scale construction projects (preferably above R200 million).
- Proven experience managing all aspects of contract management, from planning to completion, ensuring quality, budget control, and timely delivery.
- Industry Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of building and construction processes, contract law, procurement, health & safety regulations, and quality standards.
- Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team management abilities, with a demonstrated track record of successfully leading and motivating project teams.
- Client-Facing: Strong communication and interpersonal skills with experience dealing directly with clients, stakeholders, and consultants.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in project management software, cost management tools, and other relevant construction management tools.
- Location: Willingness to relocate and manage the project from the Kimberly site for the full duration of the contract.
