Role Overview:
The Senior Business Analyst will play a key role in establishing an Enterprise Architecture (EA) runway for a division of the company, to align the technical solutions with organizational strategy. This position requires strong analytical, technical and problem-solving skills, as well as a deep understanding of enterprise systems, Agile methodologies and business processes. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive business requirements from a product, channel and financial strategy perspective. The successful candidate will also need to identify opportunities to de-risk the division, as well as analyse systems and support the development of future-ready solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Recognize the Business Needs:
• Facilitate stakeholder discussions to elicit and document requirements.
• Translate stakeholder input into actionable business needs for the team.
Analyse the Business Domain:
• Conduct comprehensive analysis of systems, data flows, and processes throughout the project lifecycle.
• Collaborate with development teams to define scope and identify opportunities for automation.
Refine the Backlog:
• Assist the Portfolio Analyst/Product Owner in translating requirements into user stories and prioritizing them.
Promote Strategic Understanding:
• Facilitate discussions to help teams understand how initiatives align with organizational strategy and goals.
• Identify opportunities for improving business processes, stakeholder engagement, and policy compliance.
Operational Execution and Risk Management:
• Ensure timely execution of requirements and adherence to SLAs within the Mass and Foundation Cluster.
• Conduct due diligence, risk reviews, and reporting as required.
Process Optimization and Improvement:
• Recommend improved procedures and controls to address issues and enhance efficiency.
• Create workflow diagrams, specifications, and user stories to support the implementation of improvements.
Technical and Ad Hoc Analysis:
• Perform detailed analyses of operational issues and propose actionable solutions.
• Use analytics and reporting tools to support data-driven decision-making.
Technical Skills, Knowledge, and Experience
Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF or ArchiMate.
• Experience with business process modelling tools (e.g., BPMN, Visio).
• Familiarity with data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Power BI, Tableau).
• Strong understanding of systems integration and IT infrastructure.
• Experience with Agile tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence) for managing requirements and sprints.
Knowledge:
• In-depth understanding of enterprise architecture principles and methodologies.
• Familiarity with Agile Release Train (ART) principles and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
• Knowledge of systems development life cycle (SDLC) and DevOps practices.
• Awareness of data governance and regulatory compliance requirements.
Experience:
• 7+ years in business analysis, with a focus on technical projects or enterprise architecture initiatives.
• Proven experience working on large-scale, complex projects involving cross-functional teams.
• Demonstrated success in process reengineering, gap analysis, and automation.
• Experience in stakeholder management and facilitating workshops.
