POSITION INFO:
We are looking for a Senior Backend Developer to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with 8-10 years of experience in backend development, with a focus on ASP.NET, Microservices, C#, Azure, and GitHub. You will work closely with frontend developers, DevOps engineers, and product teams to build high-performance, reliable backend systems.

As a Senior Backend Developer, you’ll design and develop robust APIs, optimise database performance, and enhance system scalability using ASP.NET and Microservices architecture. You’ll be responsible for building and maintaining backend services, implementing security best practices, and improving system architecture on Azure. Your work will drive performance, scalability, and seamless system integration, making a direct impact on business success.

Duties:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems and APIs.
• Optimise database performance, ensuring efficiency and reliability.
• Implement security best practices and data protection strategies.
• Collaborate with frontend developers, DevOps, and product teams to deliver seamless integrations.
• Improve system architecture, scalability, and performance.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve complex backend issues.
• Write and maintain clean, well-documented code following industry best practices.

• Matric (Grade 12)
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Honour’s degree in related field will be advantageous.

• 8 - 10 years of experience as a Backend Developer.
• Proven experience in designing and implementing scalable backend systems.
• Hands-on experience with system architecture and cloud computing.
• Experience working with large-scale databases and performance tuning.
• Experience with C#.
• Experience with ASP.NET, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
• Expertise in database management (SQL, NoSQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
• Expertise in Azure cloud.
• Familiarity with containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

• Strong problem-solving skills and analytical thinking.
• Ability to write clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to lead backend development projects and mentor junior developers.
• Passion for learning new technologies and staying up to date with industry trends.
